Listen to the Earth
Friends come and go,
sharing and celebrating our overwhelmnesses…
at losses and decay.
Uncage the colors,
initiate defeat.
Because our happiness is ruined.
We never get our share,
cause we aren’t handsome enough
we are never satisfied
when our muse whisper in our ears
Shame. The actions that defeat us, also cause us prayer,
and to see the same old world of strife Oppressed,
and open we move upon the Earth
always stepping aside
for someone else’s failure
at creating our true worth
Sorrow from devotion to life
We have to urge our upsets
share our disappointments
sacred discontents
to even begin to listen to the Earth
who must be laughing
at our search for love
while she provides us with soft ground, grass and trees to relax
in our blindness to possibility.
